How to Fix Remeasurement Values

Table of Contents

After your lease data is imported into the system, it will need to be reviewed. Since our system may calculate certain values differently, discrepancies can occur between the system’s view of the lease and the provided lease status. Any difference will be posted as a Remeasurement. Our objective is to minimize this value. If the Remeasurement on a lease is higher than expected, we will need to review the lease details and adjust the problematic values.

Values to review

Below are the most common reasons that a lease may generate a significant Remeasurement amount.

  • Migration Details - It's important to double check whether the provided lease migration details are correct. Read more about migration details and what balances to take here.
  • First Instalment Date - A couple days may not seem like much, but they could be making a significant impact on the lease. For example, there might be a case where First Instalment Date is specified as 2025-02-28, but it really should be 2025-03-01.
  • Irregular Payments - There may be situations where Irregular Payments have to be applied onto the lease. This means that the Payment Schedule has to be filled in manually. Check if the Payment Schedule is correct.
  • Pro-Rata - If, during the first period of the lease, only a portion of the full payment was due, Pro-Rata payments must be applied. Please double-check if this applies to your lease.
  • Payment Due (In Arrears, In Advance) - This option specifies when the lease payment is due - either at the beginning, or the end of the rental period. Double check whether the applied option is correct.
  • Lease Term - In some cases, the lease could be missing a couple months of payments. Check if the lease term provided is correct.

Observe changes

You can review the Remeasurement amount in the Lease Liability Projection page, on the Remeasuring/Reassessment column. The value will be provided on the first available period.

You can adjust certain fields on the Lease Card to see how the Remeasurement/Reassessment value changes. If the amount approaches zero, you’re on the right track. The value may not reach exactly zero, but the goal is to reduce it as much as possible.
