How to handle Earliest Termination Date in Lease Contract Header

Note

Earliest Termination Date is a date provided for informational purposes in Lease Contract Header. It is always calculated based on the Work Date in the system.

The Earliest Termination Date field is calculated only when the fields Contract Date and Contract Valid Until are filled in in Lease Contract Header.

Each time the fields Contract Date, Contract Valid Until, Minimum Term, and Notice Period are adjusted, the Earliest Termination Date is recalculated.

The Work Date applied in the scenarios is 17/03/2026.

Scenario 1: Notice Period is empty, Minimum Term is filled

Earliest Termination Date = Contract Date + Minimum Term

Scenario 2: Notice Period is filled, Minimum Term is empty

Earliest Termination Date = Work Date + Notice Period

Scenario 3: Both Notice Period and Minimum Term are filled

Two interim dates are calculated:

Date 1 = Contract Date + Minimum Term

Date 2 = Work Date + Notice Period

These dates are then compared, and the later of the two is set as the Earliest Termination Date.

Final Step (applies to all scenarios)

The calculated Earliest Termination Date is compared against Contract Valid Until. If Contract Valid Until is earlier than the calculated Earliest Termination Date, then:

Earliest Termination Date = Contract Valid Until

Tip

When a Customer notifies that they want to terminate the Lease Contract, the Contract Valid Until date must be manually updated on the agreed date.

We recommend using the Contract Diary section in the Lease Contract to record the date when the Customer called, wrote, or otherwise informed you about their intention to terminate the Lease Contract.
