Customer Master Update Triggers
PURPOSE
Customer records (Contacts) linked to an application's applicants are normally only refreshed with the applicant's latest details once, at contract activation. This meant that data entered or corrected earlier in the process — for example, when a Quote is converted to an Application, when it's submitted for approval, once it's approved, or when it's submitted for settlement — wasn't reflected on the customer's master record until the contract went active. This is useful for leasing companies that identify customers early (e.g. by Registration No.) and want their customer records kept current throughout the process, not just at the end — for example so a document or contract printed before activation already shows up-to-date customer details.
SETUP
On Leasing Setup, in the "Customer Master Update Triggers" section, five independent switches control when this customer-record refresh happens:
- On Create Application – refreshes the customer record as soon as a new Application is created.
- On Submit for Approval – refreshes it when the Application is submitted for approval.
- On Approved – refreshes it once the Application is approved.
- On Submit for Settlement – refreshes it when the Application is submitted for settlement.
- On Contract Activation – refreshes it when the contract is activated.
The first four are off by default, so nothing changes there unless one is turned on. On Contract Activation is on by default, since the customer record was always refreshed at activation before this setup existed.

HOW TO USE
Turn on whichever switches match when you want customer records kept up to date. Once enabled, no separate action is needed — each time an Application reaches that stage, the linked customer record(s) are automatically refreshed with the applicant's current details in the background.
